[NMLUG] HAFB-LUG (?)

Everyone,

I was wanting to try to open a small chapter of a LUG here in Alamogordo / 
Holloman AFB, NM.  I would not be trying to take business from anyone, but 
rather I've noticed that quite a few people here are using Linux.  Since I'm 
no expert, it would be more of a meeting / community thing than an 
educational thing.  I will be reading the "LUG HOWTO" or whatever, but I was 
wondering if anyone would think that it's worth it.  Also, I've found quite a 
few people here that are sick enough of Windows that they want to try 
something new.  While not bashing Windows, I have steered them towards Linux.

Anyways, just wanting opinions and advice.  Feel free to email me directly if 
you so wish.

And yes, I'm still learning email etiquette, and I'm not perfect, but I'm 
working on it.  Our church is going to be purchasing some computers soon 
(i.e. parts, since I can assemble them), and we'll probably be using Mandrake 
10 Official (Download) there.  Any opinions / advice / experiences with this 
as well would be very welcome.
