[NMLUG] PC Resurrection with Debian
Okay, next question:
Is it fast enough with 400 MHz + 128 MB to play DVDs or ripped movies
from the hard drive (or network)?
I've been thinking about making a media box, lately. It would be nice,
with two young boys (it's nice to have transitioned from "small
children" to "young boys"), to be able to rip the DVDs and put them away
for safe keeping. I know the Recording Nazis would have a fit about
this, but hey, I paid for them, and I'm not doing anything illegal with
them.
So far none of the PII 350s I've tested have been able to hold up under
the strain of mpeg decoding, but that testing has been done with heavier
desktops.
