[NMLUG] Solution for large monitor

  • Subject: [NMLUG] Solution for large monitor

I've mentioned that I've been looking for a larger LCD monitor and
that some WQXGA 30" monitors are coming out. The HP LP3065 sells for
about $1700.

However, it's not the resolution per se but the "real estate" or
visual working room that's most important to me. High definition TV's
1080p (1920x1080) would be fine with me. And, lo and behold,
Westinghouse has three LCD 1080p models out, in 37", 42" and 47".The
LVM-37w3 has multiple inputs and NO TV tuner (don't need it, why pay
for it?): http://www.westinghousedigital.com/details.aspx?itemnum=56

So I've ordered one for a shade under $1,000. This is about the same I
paid for the Viewsonic VX2000 I'm presently using, some years ago. At
1920x1080 (or 1280x1024, which it also does), the 37w3 should keep me
from going blind.

Of course, nobody in Santa Fe carries it. Best Buy is the official
Westinghouse dealer in NM, but they only have the 47" model. Better
luck in Abq, no doubt. Mine is coming from Virginia.

Cheers,
Steve
